What Word of Law stores

Word of Law is a small word game made for a handful of friends. It is not advertising-supported and nothing here is sold or shared with anyone.

While you are signed in and have a level open, the app sends the state of that board (which words you have filed, the letters on your rack) to our server every few seconds so that the game's owner can watch it live. It is deleted when you leave the level and is never shown to other players.

If you sign in with Apple we store the anonymous identifier Apple gives us, the name you choose to show on leaderboards, and — only if you chose to share it — the email address Apple relays. Signing in is optional; the game is fully playable without an account.

Location. If you turn on area challenges the app asks for your approximate location, converts it on your own device into a town and state, and sends only that. Your coordinates never leave your phone and are never stored.

Game data. Your daily points, puzzle results and challenge progress are stored so leaderboards work. Friends are people you have added by exchanging a friend code.

Deleting your account

Settings inside the app has a Delete account button. It removes your profile, friendships, scores and challenge progress immediately and permanently. You can also email warren@lavall.ee.

Children

Word of Law is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
